These Community Rules are the Vistula Valley Code of Conduct, version 2026-09-11, together with the membership terms set out below. Applicants accept them when they apply, and members confirm them again in the members service before the member directory opens. They apply in every Vistula Valley space: the members service, chapter meetings, events and the community messaging groups.
By joining this group, you agree to:
Give before you take. Share opportunities, intros, and knowledge generously — no keeping score. Self-promotion is fine occasionally, but this isn’t a broadcast channel.
Lead with substance. We engage based on merit and track record, not titles. Be direct, be kind, skip the ego.
Respect the network. Don’t cold-pitch, sell, recruit, or spam members without consent. Vet intros before making them.
Keep it confidential. What’s shared here (deals, plans, personal info) stays here unless the person says otherwise.
Stay on topic. Use the group for opportunities, events, and meaningful discussion relevant to Vistula Valley — not politics, ads, or unrelated chains.
Be civil. No harassment, discrimination, or personal attacks. Disagree with ideas, not people.
One community, many places. We’re global — be mindful of time zones and cultural differences when posting.
Membership
Membership is by application and board approval, and runs for one year. Annual membership is 150 USD, paid after approval; we send renewal reminders before the membership year ends.
Once the board approves an application, you create an account and a private profile. Paying the membership fee and confirming these rules opens the member directory and the events calendar. You are responsible for the accuracy of your profile, for keeping your sign-in details to yourself, and for the content you submit.
The member directory
The directory is private and visible only to signed-in members whose membership is paid and current.
Your profile may show your name, photograph, role, company, industry, chapter, biography, experience, skills, what you are looking for or offering, links to professional profiles or websites, your joining date and your connections. Your email address and telephone number are never shown in the directory.
You choose what optional information to add and may edit or remove it at any time. Other members reach you through an introduction request or, if you turn it on, a direct message; when a message is sent, your email address may be used as the reply address. You can switch contact requests off entirely.
While your membership is active you cannot hide your profile and keep access to the directory: every active profile stays visible to other members and shows at least your name. Do not copy, export or redistribute the directory, and do not use member information for unsolicited marketing or recruitment.
When your membership ends, directory access stops and we remove your profile within 30 working days.
If the rules are broken
The board may restrict or end a membership to protect members or the community. Questions about membership, these rules or your profile: administrator@vistulavalley.org.
How we handle personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. Website and service use is also covered by the Terms of Service.
